    On 16 March, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson, made her first foreign visit to Warsaw. Minister Ruokytė-Jonsson met Prof. Piotr Gliński, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland as well as Jarosław Sellin, Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage Jaroslaw Sellin.

    During the meeting, a wide range of topics related to cultural cooperation and actions for the protection of the common cultural heritage were discussed.

    Special attention was given to the issue of cooperation on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Independence and the plans of joint projects on this occasion.

    The issues concerning the situation of the Polish minority in Lithuania are also discussed. Minister Ruokyte-Jonsson also visited The Polish Film Institute and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
