    On 30 September 2017, Ambassador of Poland to Lithuania Urszula Doroszewska, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Adam Kwiatkowski, MP Elżbieta Radziszewska, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and, MP from PiS (Eng. Law and Justice) Andrzej Kryj took part in the Harvest Festival in Pikeliškės.

    Minister Adam Kwiatkowski read a letter from the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, addressed to those present.


    "In the Polish tradition, the end of fieldwork is as an opportunity to celebrate and thank God and people for the harvest.  Wherever Polish farmers live and work, this beautiful custom is preserved," he wrote in his letter. He added: "Thank you for being here, for everything you have done and do for Vilnius region, I wish you a fruitful harvest next year and send you cordial greetings. God bless."


    In her letter of congratulations, which was read out by Ambassador Doroszewska, Prime Minister of Poland Beata Szydlo wrote "I take the opportunity at this traditional time of reflection and summing up the year-round efforts to mention also the harvest that brings the state to life in national traditions, language and culture, with Polishness.


    We recognize and greatly appreciate your achievements, the integration of Polish values, your participation in culture and its co-creation, the spreading and improvement of Polish education so needed for the youngest representatives of the Polish community in Lithuania."


    "This time of harvest is a time of gratitude for the harvest and celebration of the end of hard work, but also the moment in which the sense of community and intimacy is particularly strong. I believe that the festival of the Vilnius region will be just such an event"- Marek Kuchciński wrote.


    The Law and Justice party leader, in a letter read by Andrzej Kryja, expressed his satisfaction that the Poles in Lithuania are "faithful to God and the heritage of their ancestors and are cultivating this unique festival". Kaczyński emphasized that the Harvest Festival unites "Poles around the world."


    The head of AWPL-ZChR Waldemar Tomaszewski also spoke. “I would like to thank all of you, especially our farmers, because it is mainly their festival, as well as our main organizers headed by Maria Rekść. We will of course thank all the district heads for the beautifully decorated stands. By the way, I would also like to thank the representatives of the Polish State:  the Ambassador, the Minister, President Andrzej Duda, the parliamentarians for your support our countrymen," Tomaszewski said


    The Harvest Festival was attended by the Ambassador of Japan, representatives of the diplomatic missions of Belarus and the Russian Federation, as well as numerous delegations of Polish organizations and local governments.
