"It is a very important and poignant celebration. I remember those terrible days when in Warsaw we have experienced something which could have happened in Vilnius. Many Poles came in Vilnius to support Lithuanians. At this moment I am very happy that I perform my duties of the ambassador to free Lithuania, defended by its citizens. It was fantastic that ordinary citizens came to defend the authorities they had chosen, to defend the freedom and independence of Lithuania. Especially, it is worth mentioning it in 2018, the year marking the 100th anniversary of the independence of Poland and Lithuania"- the ambassador Urszula Doroszewska emphasized.

Over 8,300 runners took off from the Antakalnis Cemetery, they  ran the 9-km length   and finished  at the Television Tower, where 27 years ago, defending Lithuanian independence, 14 people were killed and more than 700 were injured.
